Supporting Donate for Defib WsM

Why Next Theme is backing a cause that saves lives — and how you can help too.

When someone goes into cardiac arrest, every second counts. A defibrillator can be the difference between life and death — but only if it's nearby, working, and accessible. That’s where Donate for Defib WsM steps in. And it’s why Next Theme is proud to support them.

What’s Donate for Defib WsM?

It’s a grassroots community project doing practical, life-saving work:

  • Raising funds to install public defibrillators across Weston-super-Mare
  • Maintaining and registering existing defibs so they’re usable in an emergency
  • Training volunteers to check equipment and respond fast when it’s needed
  • Mapping locations so locals, businesses, and emergency services know where they are

This isn’t a charity that sits on a pile of paperwork — it’s boots-on-the-ground, sleeves-up stuff.

Why We’re Getting Involved

We work with tradespeople and small businesses every day. You're out in vans, on-site, at customers’ homes. You’re the ones most likely to be nearby when something goes wrong.

Having working defibs across Weston makes our town safer for everyone — whether you’re on a job, out with your kids, or grabbing a bite on the seafront.

At Next Theme, we believe in doing things that make a real difference. So we’re not just throwing a logo on this — we’re helping build the system, too.

Here's what we’re doing:

  • Design & build of the new Donate for Defib volunteer portal (web system)
  • Ongoing digital support to help them scale and stay organised
  • Brand and marketing tools to help them raise more awareness, fast
  • Shoutouts and sponsorships via our platforms and printed materials

What You Can Do

If you’re a local business, especially in the trades, here’s how you can help:

  • Sponsor a defib in your area
  • Put stickers in your vans or shop windows
  • Add flyers to customer orders
  • Donate or fundraise (even a tenner goes a long way)
  • Spread the word — tell your mates, post on socials, talk to clients

Want to get involved? Visit donatefordefibwsm.co.uk or pop into the Next Theme Trade Counter at 31 Locking Road — we’ll get you sorted.

Lives are saved when communities step up.
Next Theme is in — and we’d love to see Weston’s trades lead the charge.

Let’s do something that matters.
